Volunteer at Summer Scamper

As a Summer Scamper volunteer, you’ll ensure that our participants, patients, and families have the best experience possible. Volunteers will receive a Summer Scamper volunteer T-shirt; snacks and refreshments throughout their shift; and a rewarding day of fun and high-fives!

What do volunteers do?

  • On the 5k course: Distribute high-fives, wave silly and encouraging signs, and ensure the safety of our athletes and all participants. Bring your cheering voice!

  • At the kids’ fun run: Assist with the kids’ course around the track, cheer on our tiniest athletes, and hand out kids’ fun run medals. Volunteers should be enthusiastic and comfortable working with children.

  • During the Family Festival: Distribute food and water to guests and participants; coordinate stroller parking and bag check; manage the dunk tank, basketball, and kid zone areas.

  • As Medics: Staff our medical stations along the course or in the Family Festival (medical background required).

When are the shifts?

Volunteer shifts at Summer Scamper begin at 7:30 a.m. on event day and end at noon. Volunteers will receive training for their specific volunteer role, a limited edition Summer Scamper volunteer T-shirt, and access to the Family Festival. We also provide volunteers with snacks and water throughout their shift.

How do I sign up to volunteer?

Submit your information, including your preferred volunteer role, and we’ll assign you a specific volunteer job and shift on Scamper day. After you submit your information, our team will follow up with you to confirm details and provide additional instructions.
